Super Size Me

Three trips to McDonald's a day might be every little boy's dream. But the reality was nightmare for Morgan Spurlock, whose movie Super Size Me documents his one- month existence on fast food and its disastrous consequences. So, if it was so awful, why did he do it?

This person is subjected to a risky experiment for a month eating only McDonald's products.
I think he wanted to prove to their own experience that these products are not food and have been for many years the cause of disease and diabetes in high-consumption countries.

During the show he becomes the tests and his body are changing rapidly and suffer consequences.

I think he managed to change the thinking of many people regarding their diet.

Thanksgiving and Consumerism

Thanksgiving dinner is a very important date in the US, normally people buy many things to cook and make a great dinner to share with family and friends.
The problema is when “some important “ date turns to consumerism.

Special occasions like Christmas, Mother's Day, Black Friday and Sant Valentin’s day has been marketed and the concept of the celebration becomes meaningless.

The companies take advantage of the seasons to sell all kinds of items such as decoration, meals and gifts, and people are part of this wasteful consumption.

I understand that shops and stores need to sell, and that these celebrations are part of the economic balance of the world, but I can not accept that every day people buy more and larger companies leverage to raise prices and increase fabrications. This is damaging the planet.

On Thanksgiving people should be grateful to God and nature for what they have, but instead they worry more about dinner and how much they will eat that night.
If it were a real day of action of thanks, it wouldn't be a business to sell turkeys and raise food prices.

I hope someday we will become aware and go back to basics...
